Security Council Meeting on Situation in Libya

Thursday, 14 March 2013
The Security Council met at 6934th meeting to discuss the Situation in Libya and the Report of the Secretary-General on the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, S/2013/104.
The Council proceeded to vote on the draft resolution ,S/2013/156. The draft resolution received 15 votes in favour, none against and no abstentions and was adopted unanimously as resolution 2095 (2013).

UNCTAD has released the report of the Secretary General to UNCTAD to UNCTAD XIII. The thirteenth session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD XIII) will be held in Doha, Qatar from the 21st to the 26th of April 2012. The Situation in Afghanistan-Report of the Secretary-General

The present report, A/66/369 is submitted pursuant to General Assembly resolution 65/8 and Security Council resolution 1974 (2011), in which the Council requested the Secretary-General to report on developments in Afghanistan every three months. The report provides an update on the activities of the United Nations in Afghanistan, including significant humanitarian, development and human rights efforts, since the previous report (A/65/873-S/2011/381), dated 23 June 2011. The report also provides a summary of key political and security developments and information on regional and international events related to Afghanistan.

The rule of law and transitional justice in conflict and post-conflict societies
The present report, S/2011/634, is submitted at the request of the Security Council presidential statement,S/PRST/2010/11 in which the Security Council requested to take stock of progress made in implementing the recommendations contained in the 2004 report of the Secretary-General on the rule of law and transitional justice in conflict and post-conflict societies S/2004/616 and to consider in this context further steps to promote the rule of law.
Assistance in Mine Action- Report of the Secretary General

This present report,A/66/292, covering the period from August 2009 to July 2011, is submitted pursuant to General Assembly resolution 64/84, in which the Assembly requested the Secretary-General to submit a report to the Assembly at its sixty-sixth session on the implementation of that resolution and on follow-up to previous resolutions on assistance in mine clearance and mine action, including on relevant United Nations policies and activities.
The report also outlines the achievements made since the previous report of the Secretary-General (A/64/287) in the implementation of the four strategic objectives identified in the United Nations Inter-Agency Mine Action Strategy 2006-2010. In recognition of the evolving mine action landscape, the report outlines a series of recommendations, including enhanced cooperation among United Nations mine action partners in the area of ammunition stockpile management, to address the increased threats posed by improvised explosive devices and the vast circulation of illicit small arms and light weapons.

The Situation in Libya

On Thursday October 28th at its 6640th meeting, the Security Council adopted resolution S/RES/2016(2011) to end the NATO mission in Libya and the protection of civilians.
The Security Council will hold another meeting today at 3pm on the Situation in Libya.
