15 June is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day
In resolution A/RES/66/127 , the General Assembly designated 15 June as World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, and invites all Member States, organizations of the United Nations system and other international and regional organizations, as well as civil society, including non-governmental organizations and individuals, to observe it in an appropriate manner.
The resolution is a follow-up to the Madrid Political Declaration on Ageing A/CONF.197/9.
