Security Council - Somalia

Today the Security Council will meet to discuss the Report of the Secretary‐General on Somalia (S/2011/549). The Council  is scheduled to adopt a resolution that would re-authorise the African-Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM). On 22nd September the Secretary-General sent a letter to the President of the Security Council (S/2011/591) expressing concern about the critical gaps that remain in the support package for the mission. This letter also containes additional support requirements. More information on informal discussions can be found in What’s in Blue?.
